The resonator has a slimmer tone. Not thinner, like a bridge pickup, but slimmer... which makes it great for layering. The parts are all in the same tonal range, but there's room for each one. You have excellent insight. Gave the guitar another chance and discovered something. Outstanding!

I teach guitar, bass, ukulele, harmonica, and voice at a performing arts studio that has over 300 students. I agree that Taylor Swift cannot be compared with Eddie Van Halen in terms of guitar skills and technique... But, during the last year, we've experienced many young students either switching from other instruments to guitar, or adding guitar to their studies primarily due to Taylor's popularity as a singer/writer/performer who plays guitar, and adopts the guitar as part of her chosen image. Anything, or anyone who causes people to choose to begin playing guitar in very noticeably increased numbers is a good thing for keeping the guitar in prominence, and relevance in today's music culture. I'm not a fan of Taylor, but I appreciate that her popularity is causing many kids to choose to learn guitar. Anyone who experiences the possibilities of guitar playing may advance to whatever level that they choose to aspire to along their journey of exploring the guitar.

TC Electronics MojoMojo. Super useful and sounds great with a variety of settings. Personally, I dime the volume, kill the drive and treat it almost more like an EQ/compressor that is always on. It makes my clean tones really pop and makes it easier to have consistent volume from clean to dirt. I run it into a Tube Screamer followed by a distortion and this setup gives me all of the levels of dirt I need. I throw a wah in front, an EQ that I use as a boost in the back along with a delay and sometimes a phase right before the delay. Really happy with this setup. The MojoMojo specifically lets me get my sound through a wide variety of amps. Great for gigs where I won't be bringing my own backline.
